"Hello, world!"

Hi guys. My website is live. By "guys," I don’t know who exactly I am referring to, as I have no clue who I will choose to share this with. But hello nevertheless!

I have been meaning to make a personal website for a long time, although what really spurred me into action was pure jealousy of Julian’s personal website, which looks really cool. After seeing how well his site turned out last summer (2025), I spent some time in VSCode following a YouTube tutorial on flask website rollout. I managed to get a local, bare bones situation going. Then the school year started and I fizzled out.

Take 2: fast forward eight months. Motivational jealousy, second edition: Thea created an absolutely stunning personal website. wOw. Once again, I found myself called to action, although this time I decided to be a bit more practical. In other words, rather than attempting to code my website from scratch once again, I used Claude and a couple of low-cost subscriptions to get a little something going.

Huzzah, lo and behold...and here we are! Hel’s world has transitioned from a fuzzy imagining in my mind to its own little nook of the internet.

Over the summer, I plan to further refine what I have going on here. I plan to get a photo album going, and put up a few blog posts. In the meantime, I am excited for where this leads.
